When addiction is all there is and need blurs the lines between humanity and survival, trust is a luxury few can afford. "Dirtbag Island" is Melissa Nottingham's highly anticipated debut novel that is filled with thrill and intrigue. Elaborating on topics such as drug addiction and sprinkling in elements of mystery and horror, this game-changing novel defies standard fiction genres. Dive in and travel to an island that is the perfect mix of science and psychology. What could possibly go wrong? Tucked into a lush cove on the hidden banks of Crystal Island sits the world's only lifelong cure for drug addiction, turning the horrors of detox into a long weekend at a spa. Pampered and catered to, the elite need only enough money and the desire to be well – Dr. Herbert Montgomery takes care of everything else. But when a resident terrorist corrupts the mix and blows up the lab, setting this heady mutation free into the wind, addiction becomes airborne. What was once the most perfect cure becomes the most untreatable disease. With no regard for whom it touches, in a single breath addiction invades and attacks. Jo, once a brilliant doctor, and Gage Callahan, a sociopathic serial killer live in the aftermath of ruined romance while a never-ending turnstile of new corruption feeds the fire of Dirtbag Island. Only the Reaper understands the fallout, and only he decides who will survive the Darkness.
About the author
Melissa is a first-time novelist, debuting a thriller nearly a decade in the making. A self-proclaimed rebel heart with a gypsy soul, Melissa has spent years chasing the thrill of great horror novels, mysteries, and ghost stories. After several small publications in her teens for poetry, Melissa spent her twenties writing little else than the tales of a misspent youth. In her thirties, she met the love of her life, who convinced her to finish the first page of a novel that she had started writing ten years before its publishing.
