About The Author


ROB MURPHY - was hired to take over the Eastern Michigan men's basketball program on April 21, 2011. In his first season, he guided the Eagles to their first ever Mid-American Conference (MAC) West Title. For his efforts in leading the team to the West Championship, Murphy was named 2012 MAC Coach of the Year and National Association of Basketball Coaches District 14 Coach of the Year. In Murphy's first eight seasons he accumulated 144 victories with the Eagles while graduating 93% of his student athletes. Over the past twenty-three years, Murphy has had a positive impact on the lives of many through his coaching assignments and the Rob Murphy Foundation, an organization providing support and opportunities for youth in under-served areas.
