"...I saw myself enter what was more like a field of wildflowers, than a garden of roses..."  I've learned that life doesn't always go as planned. Some of us have it harder than others. I ran happy as a child, but then my path swerved as I struggled through my teen years with a rare nerve disease called Friedreich's Ataxia. Finding myself a young adult searching for purpose, I began working with the youth group in my parish and soon found myself blessed to marry and have a family of my own. My story shares some of the hurdles, happiness and humor of what life is like having a physical challenge, and it sheds light on my husband and I raising our crew of nine children. With God, all things are possible.

About The Author


Patty Connelly is a physically challenged wife and mother of nine children and nonna to eleven—and counting—grandchildren. Born and raised in southern California where in her younger years she was a youth minister, she and her husband have raised their family in northern Idaho. Helping people try to make sense of God's 'tapestry' is her passion. She has also written the children's book "Nonna Says Dandelions are...".
