About The Author

I was born in 1946 in Chicago to working class parents. At age 10, I had a black cat named Inky. I attended Gage Park elementary and high school. I graduated from Chicago Teacher's College South with a BS of Ed degree and taught mostly first grade at Davis elementary school in the Brighton Park neighborhood in Chicago for nine and a half years. In the late 70's, I moved to Morris, Illinois where I taught first grade at Immaculate Conception School for 14 years. Living in Morris, I eventually started feeding feral cats until cat blockades at both the front and back door led me to adopt one feral kitten and discontinue the "free lunch program". Scooter is a white male cat with a few black spots, has a special cat room and runs the house. I am retired now and my hobbies are gardening and reading.
