About The Author

Jennifer Viaud has spent the majority of her career where it matters most, inside classrooms, working directly with students. She began her journey as a middle school teacher and dedicated over 20 years to public education in New Jersey, serving students from all backgrounds and with a wide range of academic, social, and behavioral needs. Long before stepping into leadership roles as a principal and superintendent, Jennifer built her foundation side by side with students, learning firsthand what young people truly need to feel safe, supported, and successful. Throughout her career, Jennifer has worked with many challenging students and firmly believes that at the heart of every successful classroom is a strong relationship. Students need structure. They need guidance. Most of all, they need to know they are cared for. When learners feel safe and valued, real growth happens, not only academically, but socially and emotionally as well. While Jennifer's roots are firmly planted in the classroom, much of her work as an administrator has focused on supporting elementary-aged students. In these roles, she has remained closely connected to daily school life, working alongside teachers, families, and support staff during some of the most formative years of a child's development. A teacher at heart, Jennifer proudly considers herself a "teacher's teacher." Even in administration, she views her role as that of a lead teacher and mentor, partnering with educators to strengthen classroom management, build confidence, and create learning environments where both students and teachers can thrive. She is deeply passionate about helping schools become warm, joyful places to work and learn each day. Jennifer believes schools are far more than buildings for instruction. They are homes away from home, places where children are supported, nurtured, and prepared not just to succeed in school, but to thrive in life beyond the classroom. By prioritizing relationships, care, and connection, she continues to help create school communities where students, staff, and families feel seen, valued, and truly belong.
