Reviewers have said this:

“The author takes a largely chronological approach to what to bring, consider, prepare, and plan when gearing up for your next camping trip.”
“There is a lot of focus on animal (bear, insect, snake) awareness and fire building which are very helpful, as are the sing-along song lists and handy camp food recipes.”

“This book sparked enthusiasm in me to want to go camping again!”
“This book covers everything you need, to prepare, and actively set up camp. It explains what to do and what not to do. It covers all kinds of camping from roughing it to creature comforts.”

The author has spent a lifetime of camping in many of its forms. Experiences from tent camping, canoe camping, and camping as a backpacker all come together in this fully-packed guide. Whether you are considering camping for the first time or even if you are a seasoned camper, you'll find hundreds of useful tips in this guide. The information you will find within the guide includes how to plan your camping adventure, the equipment you might need, what to expect at a campground or remote location, which foods to consider, and the wildlife you might encounter. In order to help the reader to avoid pitfalls and mishaps that could await the inexperienced camper, the author portrays mistakes he has made and situations he has seen or experienced. In fact, the entire guide was created for the sole purpose of helping campers to have the best possible camping experience.
About the author
Allan C. Clark has camped since childhood and has picked up a vast store of knowledge about nearly every style of camping. Although a veteran tent camper, he now enjoys adventuring in an RV. Mr. Clark has written two articles for "RV Consumer Magazine" on the subjects of drinking water filtration and on camp hosts. Allan volunteered as a camp host at a Maryland State Park as well as at Shenandoah National Park. Now Allan C. Clark has created a guide that is useful for both the novice and the seasoned camper. Among the pages of instruction and advice are anecdotes of personal experiences, often illustrating how to avoid problems or how to deal with them.
