Books or Sports

Football, basketball, baseball, and soccer are huge in youth sports. As an African parent we must draw a line and discuss does my child need to play this and what level. Also ask yourself are you investing the same amount of money in your kids education or graduation fund. Also as African parents we have to educate our youth about our ancestors, we are responsible and must take action on what they learn and know.

We have to do better as African parents and balance books and sports with our youth. I must admit that I recently read Booker T Washington and the Souls of Black folks and I wish I had done this in high school. We have to do better as parents and make our kids read before the smart phone disables their brain use. Critical thinking is key and I admit I made a mistake but it's never too late to correct an issue.
