Blue Amen is a collection of narrative poems sequenced by imagery, ideas, and the poet's life experiences. It is a mixture of some fact and quite a bit of fiction.

Description

These poems reflect Susan Mallory's keen eye for detail. Ideas and imagery connect a wide range of subject matter: music, art, animals, birth and death, love and aging. She captures the peculiarities of people, places, and objects, managing in some of the poems to obliquely impart a little wisdom.

About the author
Susan Mallory grew up in Pasadena, California. She attended Stanford University and graduated from Sarah Lawrence College. She received an MA in Foreign Language from Memphis State University and an MFA in Creative Writing from Spalding University. She and her husband live in Memphis, Tennessee. Blue Amen is her first collection of poetry.
