Big Words for Children is a book designed to expand the complexity and overall size of a child's vocabulary. The book illuminates words that could be used in an everyday conversation by first giving a simple definition and then uses the word in a story that matches an illustration based on the word. The book also offers synonyms to further expand the knowledge of the words in order to make a more well rounded understanding. Each illustration is done in a way that makes the learning enlightening as well as fun. It is the intent of the book to encourage learning through laughter and story.

Caleb Havertape is best known for his illustrations; he has been painting, both digitally and traditionally, since 2008. he received his BA in studio art, with a concentration in painting from Cal State University San Bernardino in 2013. He is currently working towards his MFA in illustration. He is a multimedia instructor at MSJC and a freelance illustrator on the side. he dabbles in a bit of everything that involves art. He is the proud father of five; the sole inspiration for this book.
