Bonnie Feldman creates community wherever she goes. Starting as an artist and educator, her first love, she became a major advocate for those affected by the diagnosis of a brain tumor.
Bonnie spent her early years as an educator in New Jersey and an art teacher in Massachusetts. Her appreciation for education and art has never waned, which led her to curate an art exhibit at her community’s town hall, many years later.
In the 1990s, Bonnie founded and initially led two not-for-profit organizations, The Brain Tumor Society (TBTS), close to her heart, and the North American Brain Tumor Coalition (NABTC), also critically important. She sought to bring attention, educate, and raise funding that would lead to improved treatments and support those affected by brain tumors. She successfully engaged the attention of scientists and professionals, leading federal government officials, and international organizations, as well as community organizations.
She even engaged the leaders of the New England Patriot’s Football Team of the 1990’s to declare The Brain Tumor Society their official charity, accepting their monies raised for her organization on the 50 yard line at half time.
Bonnie always brings people together. Be it children or scientists, patients and their loved ones or government officials. While still enjoying life in a naturally beautiful and thriving artist community, Bonnie remains passionate, active and committed to the mission of National Brain Tumor Society.
