Bella's Brigade for Hope is a beautiful and heartwarming story about friendship, a shared love of ballet, and the miracle of organ transplantation. Bella and Deanna's story will touch your heart and encourage children to make a difference in our world. Bella and Deanna are best friends. They do everything together and they both love ballet more than anything! Both girls are so excited and are practicing hard for their upcoming ballet recital. When Deanna unexpectedly becomes very sick and is admitted into the hospital, they learn that she will need a liver transplant to save her life. Bella is devastated and spends as much time as she can with Deanna. Bella wants to help Deanna remain hopeful as the time keeps passing as she anxiously waits for a donor. Every day the nurses must administer lab tests to monitor Deanna's condition so that she is ready for her transplant. Every day they pray that Deanna will receive her new liver. Bella decides to design a band-aid that will help brighten up Deanna's days. This is the beginning of "Bella's Brigade for Hope" as Deanna becomes more positive and hopeful that she will receive her life saving transplant. Although it is a scary experience, Deanna's operation is a success. As time goes on, Deanna's health improves, and she can be in the audience for the spring ballet recital. Bella and the entire ballet class honor Deanna's bravery and dedicate their performance to her.
