About the author
Nicole J. Barrett is also the author of Becoming Light, a book about recovery from food addiction. She is also a songwriter and screenwriter. She obtained her Bachelor Degree in Psychology from the University of Washington in 1997 and her Master of Social Work in 1999. Since then, she has worked as a counselor and case manager at different organizations in the social work field within the Seattle/Tacoma area. She has worked for the state, in schools, in daycares, in hospitals as a medical social worker, in mental health clinics and in homes as a family preservation therapist. She has worked with people from all walks of life from infants and children to teenagers, from active duty military to veterans and military retirees, from cancer patients to the elderly and disabled. She has worked with individuals, couples and families. Her biggest passions are writing, healing, metaphysics, music and film/video production. She lives in Kent, Washington with her husband of 10 years. She is a cancer survivor and advocate for the hearing impaired.
