Overview
BARE is a photography book that provides a snapshot of emotions tangled with the pandemic of 2020 and how women weaved through the trials of daily life, only to come out stronger.
Description
This book showcases 24 women in their "barest" moments during the COVID-19 pandemic. All subjects exposed their soul in front of the lens in their portrait sessions and in behind the lens in sharing their personal stories. Photographing these women in 2020 in real time captured the raw and emotional moment. All subjects that were photographed were not professional models, which also brought realness to this project. BARE is a visual and artistic journey that blends history and art together and puts a powerful time stamp on a moment where we honored women who bared their feelings and their souls.
About the author
Steven Branstetter (b. August 26, 1967) Steven is a native San Franciscan. In his earlier days as a teenager, he always had a camera in hand, documenting history, and creating a vessel to travel back in time. After photographing weddings and families for the past decade, Steven developed a special connection with human interaction and emotions. He is now following his passion for photographing emotion through his portraiture work. Steven's strength is storytelling through images.
