Description

Ester is left behind while her true love, an airman named Rick, is deployed from Clark Air Base in the Philippines to an embattled hilltop in Laos.  The North Vietnamese Army overruns the site and takes Rick prisoner. The U.S., not knowing his fate, declares him missing in action.   Ester is pregnant and gives birth to their son a few months later.  While Rick struggles to survive the agony and despair of prison camp, Ester and their young son wait for him believing against all odds he is indeed alive and will someday return.   Rick’s determination to remain alive and one day return to Ester, along with Ester and their son’s refusal to give up hope, redefines the boundaries of love and devotion.
