Astral Prune Writings

Unusual writings, philosophy, and poetry written between 1989 and 2001 during the exploratory part of the life of one who has adopted the name of an Astral Prune. An Astral Prune is one who carefully picks and chooses which thoughts to develop as they appear on one's viewscreen and not to devour voraciously the content that appears. There are also many fresh and insightful drawings made by the Astral Prune who had spent many years learning the art of cartooning.

Paul Nathanael Berland grew up in Chicago and was encouraged to write. In college at MIT in 1989 it began, the first of what became a long series of unusual writings. These writings continued all the way until 2001. They consist of philosophy and poetry and reflections on life. In 1997, the name Astral Prune was taken for the more musical and rhyhmic writings and endeavors. Astral Prune Writings is the culmination of 12 years of exploration and discovery in the theater of the mind.
