Overview
What if patients are forced to go underground to find the care they need? What if there is an agency of the government tasked with preventing all underground medicine? Justin, a would be writer, is trapped into performing an interview with a notorious underground doctor as part of an elaborate scheme by the Director of OPIE to capture the underground doctor. It does not go well. The Director takes her revenge and only the underground doctor can save Justin.
Description
In college Justin had wanted to be a writer, but after college he has fallen into an apparently good life watching sports, playing sports, and drinking beer with his friends. He hasn't written a thing. A friend convinces him to write a story about OPIE, the Office of Program Integrity and Enforcement, which is responsible for quality of the health care system. Justin introduces him to the local Director who traps him into a scheme to trap a notorious underground doctor. It does not go well. The Director takes her revenge. The only one who can save his life and later the life of his newborn daughter is the underground doctor. In the end Justin has found a family, a life, and the passion to write.
About the author
Dr. Hensle practices medicine in Virginia. He has been president of the state medical society, the local hospital medical staff, and his state specialty society. Dr. Hensle has published two other books, a collection of short stories titled'A Simple Christmas Story' and a novella for children of all ages, 'Steve the Christmas Ghost.'
