Family is a recurring theme evident from narratives of Kentucky ancestors, along with the testimonials that honor her mother, aunt, and grandfather. Stories of the small town neighborhoods where Jacqueline felt secure and loved undergird her childhood memories. Growth is a recurring theme where we see a women sometimes questioning and doubting herself. As she becomes stronger in her relationship with God, the theme transitions to self-acceptance. Jacqueline sees herself grow into a writer who finally accepts her gift and is willing to share it.
