Overview
This biography is about a family who left the security and comfort of their home in Mexico to find a new destiny in the land of opportunity, where people are free to hope and make their own way. It's the story of a hard-working family who came together and broke all stereotypes, overcame all obstacles, and forged forward to better their lives.
Life in a foreign country with a different language and culture, and without the support of an extended family would become a challenge, but it also offered an opportunity to leave old conventions behind and create your own. We came to the United States of America at a time when soldiers had just returned from World War II, eager to begin a new life and have families. This is a story about the 50s, 60s, and 70s, where technological inventions introduced a myriad of household products and appliances that gave everyone free time to experience life and enjoy their free time.
It is also the story of our brave ancestors who took a tremendous risk by sailing across the Atlantic Ocean into a world they had just learned existed, with the same spirit of excitement and hope for a new beginning. Part of my heritage comes from my American forefathers whose genetic markers added to our own pool of genes, making us stronger and able to shape our future, as well as improve our lives and our societies in significant ways.
