Description

In A Heart for God: Loving God with Your Whole Heart, Vicki Lynn Gordy invites you to consider evidence you've maybe never heard for the truth of Christianity's claims. You’ll learn reasons to believe: God exists, the Bible is reliable, and the claims of Jesus. But as Vicki explains, Christianity was never meant to be about just engaging one’s mind—but one’s heart. She explores what God is like; his relationship with mankind (what it is vs. what it was meant to be); how we can enter into the relationship with God for which we were created, and experience "life that is truly life” (I Timothy 6:19).

Christian scholars, pastors and others have commended A Heart for God:

"A breath of fresh air! Unlike so many other books focusing on 'apologetics' issues, this book breathes sincerity and concern rather than simply offering answers to frequent questions... I predict that readers will come away with a sense that the Gospel is worth serious consideration."
---  Bob Stewart, Professor of Philosophy and Theology, Director of the Apologetics Program, New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary

"A compelling read... A Heart for God opened my mind and heart with a perspective and understanding for which I am most grateful."
--- Dr. Joseph Lacoste, Jr., Founder and CEO of Louisiana Dental Center

"Heartwarming and exceptional. A Heart for God purports a serious investigation into deep concepts that are common to us all... Vicki not only presents the material in a very clear and pragmatic format but also in a warm and friendly manner."
--- Deacon Piero Caserta, PhD, St. Agnes Catholic Church, Jefferson, Louisiana

"Some Christian books focus on personal spiritual development without substantial answers to the questions of today. Other Christian books focus on intellectual answers but leave no space for relational insight... A Heart for God strikes a great balance between intellectual apologetics and relational evangelism."
--- John Frady, Author of Bad Preacher, Executive Pastor of Spiritual Development, Celebration Church, Metairie, Louisiana

"Vicki's careful research, verified by some of today's top scholars, shows that the Christian faith is reasonable and true. This is a book I highly recommend."
--- Marilyn Stewart, Editor and Journalist

"A Heart for God is a wonderful book for everyone whether you're curious about Christianity's truth claims and teachings or you're a Christian who wants to grow in your understanding of what you believe and why... but Vicki doesn't just speak to the mind. She engages the mind and heart."
--- Lanie Anderson, MDiv in Christian Apologetics, lanieanderson.com

"A Heart for God is exceptionally well written and thoroughly researched... I recommend everyone read it."
--- Julia Ball, Texas

"I enjoyed the book thoroughly and it answered many questions that I have asked internally before, but never pursued the questions openly. It has helped me be more confident and comfortable in speaking boldly for Christ."
--- Jeremy Angle, St. Rose, Louisiana

About the author

Vicki Lynn Gordy began searching for answers to some of life's biggest questions after her history professor told the class Jesus was a myth. She wasn't a Christian then, but several years later at 21 years old she wanted to explore whether her professor's claim about Jesus was true or false. She came to the conclusion that Christianity is not only believable but worth embracing and loves to share how others can come to know and experience this life-giving and life-transforming treasure that she discovered many years ago. Vicki lives in the New Orleans area which is also home to the loves of her life--her daughter, son-in-law and granddaughter. She works for a faith-based agency helping those impacted by domestic violence.
