At a rescue shelter north of Los Angeles in late December, a small family of dogs gathers together to hear a Christmas story. The narrator is an elderly dog named Charles. His audience numbers three: Wendell, another senior dog at the shelter, and two puppies that are waiting to find their forever family. Charles’ story is A CLOWN DOG’S CHRISTMAS. Clown dog Pebbles is its heroine. As Pebbles looks forward to a happy Christmas with Beppo, he suddenly turns sad. When she learns their future is at stake, she must use all her talent, every skill she learned in clownery class and all her courage to bring Beppo a present that can’t be wrapped and tied with ribbon. She must give him the gift of hope. CLOWN DOG is written for young people ages 9-12. But anyone who likes dogs, comedy, romance, acrobatic leaps and holiday food will enjoy this story of friendship and joy. This Christmas adventure in Budapest will appeal to children of all ages.

Leni Ramberg can’t remember a time when she didn’t love books… or dogs. When she was a little girl, Leni lived on a small farm in Minnesota. The first dog in her life was Snooks, a Shepherd mix that herded the cows between pasture and barn.
