About the Author

Erin Rosenblum, MFT, is a licensed cognitive behavioral therapist with over 15 years of experience helping teens and adults navigate life’s emotional challenges with compassion, creativity, and evidence-based care. Practicing in the heart of Silicon Valley, she is known for supporting bright, empathetic individuals dealing with anxiety, grief, and life transitions—whether it's the pressures of work or college, the emotional complexity of parenting, or the quiet grief that often goes unspoken in our lives.

This book is the first in a collection designed to help young children gently explore big emotions like grief, jealousy, bravery, and belonging. Drawing on her clinical expertise, Erin creates stories that are developmentally sensitive and emotionally resonant—written not just to entertain, but to serve as conversation starter between children and the grownups who love them.

The characters are inspired by Erin’s own real-life pets: Peanut Butter, a shy rabbit rescued from a gas station parking lot just before a storm, and Donner, a blue parakeet who flew into an ice cream shop during the California wildfires. Together, they have become more than pets—they are companions, symbols of resilience, and now, guides through the emotional worlds of childhood.

About the Illustrator

The story is brought to life by Aubree Rosenblum, a high school student with a remarkable talent for creativity and an intuitive grasp of emotion. As both artist and daughter of the author, Aubree brings a unique, heartfelt perspective to the project. Her drawings capture not only the whimsy of animal friendships but the joy and simplicity of each moment shared on each page.

This collaboration between therapist and teen artist is rooted in shared conversations about emotional growth, empathy, and resilience. Aubree’s illustrations add layers of warmth and wonder, making the book visually engaging and emotionally safe for young readers.

Together, Erin and Aubree have created a story that helps children feel seen, supported, and less alone—a story that’s just the beginning of a growing series designed to support the social and emotional well-being of kids everywhere.
