I am a retired detective lieutenant from law enforcement who, through the experience of caring for my elderly mother who developed a mild case of dementia, found great strength and tremendous comfort in my growing faith in the Lord's ever-present love.  During the season of caregiving for my mother, our family suffered a multitude of unexpected and even tragic events which completely compounded the role of caregiver as those events unfolded.  Still reeling from the sudden transition into retirement from the chaotic world of law enforcement and thrust into an instantaneous role as a caregiver, I struggled with the complex and ever-changing dynamics which persistently left me in a state of disequilibrium.  In search of a means to quell the internal struggles that persisted, I actively sought out the promises that the Lord provides and found an abundance of peace and tranquility that I had never before experienced.  Subsequent to my mother's death, I began writing this journey as a means of working through the grief and ultimately found it to be a story that is now meant to reach others who may be in need of comfort and encouragement.
