On September 1st 2019 Hurricane Dorian, the strongest hurricane to hit Atlantic Islands in known history, was destroying structures and homes all over the islands and cays of the Abacos and Grand Bahama in the Bahamas.

I was there during this scary event, and this is my story of the immediate aftermath. My photos show the destruction on Guana Cay. In spite of the huge material loss, nobody died on our little island. Some people on other islands were not that lucky and were killed by the hurricane. That put our own loss into perspective. We feel for the families who lost a loved one.

I have been living on Great Guana Cay for 10 years, and is happily married to Mikey, a Bahamian. My normal job is taking photos and making videos of Real Estate. I am also soon to be a Real Estate Agent for Great Guana Cay.

If you want to see how our beautiful island looked before, take a look at my videos on YouTube. You'll find them if you search for Unni Marie Berg. I have also made the videos on Bill Thompson's YouTube channel, and many on Kerry Sullivan Real Esate channel.
