Joy Young is a reputable and respected music industry executive, serving artists and creatives for over a decade. She is the Owner and CEO of independent record label Playtime Music and Playtime Talent Group, a full service brand management company. 

She was previously the Southeast Regional Promotion Director at Interscope Records, a subsidiary of Universal Music Group. Prior to Interscope, Joy had a short-tenure at Jay Z’s Roc Nation as their Southeast Regional Promotion Director. She has acquired eleven #1 records and has worked with artists such as DaBaby, GloRilla, J.Cole, Kendrick Lamar, Rob49, Skilla Baby, Summer Walker, Ari Lennox, Ella Mai, Moneybagg Yo and many others. Before her time at Interscope and Roc Nation, Joy held tenure at Wondaland Arts Society’s Wondaland Management and Wondaland Records, home to Janelle Monáe, Jidenna and other signed artists, as a day-to-day artist and project manager.

As an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, Joy exemplifies what it means to be of service to all communities. She encourages high scholastic and ethical standards as a mentor, promotes unity and friendship among women as a speaker and influencer, works to address and help alleviate problems concerning women to improve social and professional stature as a thought leader in her field, supports and help develop young collegiate women who desire to work in the music industry as a mentor, and she simply is of service to creatives through curated events for exposure and mentees in any way that she can.

Joy has previously spoken in front of several sold out events for Google, Toyota’s Music Academy, the Women In Radio Conference, the Passport Experience Music Conference located in Nairobi, Kenya, and many other events and digital platforms.
