Media entrepreneur, broadcast journalist, educator and motivator, Jeffrey Miller has long been involved in the business of changing public perception. In 1989 Mr. Miller left a successful sales career in Corporate America to augment the process of balancing mainstream media’s portrayal of the Black experience.
In 1990, he launched the Media Company, Jammin II Incorporated, which became a trendsetter in Black issues programming, and a heavy hitter in the struggle for full inclusion of “people of color” as valued U.S. citizens.
As the company’s CEO, Jeffrey Miller also performed as the Executive Producer, Principal Writer and Host of Jammin II Inc.’s video projects and was engaged for more than sixteen years in the creation and distribution of groundbreaking television, including weekly TV series’, documentaries and ‘Special Reports’.
His productions earned two Broadcast Emmys, two CABLEACE Awards and eleven nominations for Outstanding Programming Achievement from the National Academy of Arts & Sciences, and the National Cable Association.
In 2008 Mr. Miller wrote, published and secured distribution for, ‘Up From the Under, What We Should Do Next’. This mind opening audio-book weaves a fascinating historical story, with a contemporary blend of events. It also presents a step by step blueprint to follow for a Generation seeking the way up from ‘the under’, as in, under-educated, under-employed, under-paid, under-privileged, under-valued, under-housed, under-suspicion and often under attack.
For the past fourteen years, Jeff Miller has worked with state of Michigan agencies, Detroit based community groups, churches, schools and non-profits to develop and implement a Personal Enrichment Program Series designed to inspire, motivate and actualize individual success. He designed and continues to facilitate a Self-Actualization and Personal Empowerment curriculum, created to change the mindset of failure and alter the culture of ignorance that leads to ‘the under’. Currently he serves WCCCD and its Chancellor, Dr. Curtis L. Ivery, as an educational media consultant.
His Program, ‘The Empowerment Project with Jeffrey Miller’, is about personal uplift through knowledge. It’s about becoming competent, capable and confident. It’s about handling conflict, communicating effectively, building healthy relationships, competing, winning, and learning how to maximize individual potential to supersize success.
