Terje "Terry" Aasen, A Norwegian-American, is now enjoying near full-time retirement after a long and varied career in international business management. For over 40 years, he’s called the United States home, raising an American family that now includes grandchildren, and has traveled the world.

His latest passion project is Letters Home—an English translation and adaptation for U.S. readers of a remarkable historical account. The book follows four young brothers who left their family's remote mountain farm in Hallingdal, Norway, in the late 1700s, forging new paths as artisans, traders, and shipowners in a still-unified Denmark-Norway. Long before Ellis Island and transatlantic emigration, theirs is a story of grit, family, and a Norway on the cusp of change.
