Stu Lisson is an Emmy award winning producer, director and writer crafting documentaries on some of America’s most accomplished achievers including Tom Brokaw, Vanessa Williams, Joyce Carol Oates, Bob Costas and others. He’s also written and produced special features for Universal Pictures, and 20th Century Studios.

In 2008, Lisson, working with Universal Pictures, helped bring the world premiere of the motion picture The Express to the Landmark Theater in Syracuse, New York. The Express tells the inspirational story of running back Ernie Davis, the first African America to win the Heisman Trophy. In 2017 Lisson was part of the Emmy Award winning team that produced Miracle on 42th Street, the story of of Manhattan Plaza narrated by Chaz Palmentieri.

In 2020 Lisson followed with an Emmy for the documentary, The Real Bedford Falls, It’s a Wonderful Life featuring the film classic’s original co-stars Karolyn Grimes (ZuZu) and Jimmy Hawkins (Tommy Bailey). The film, narrated by NBC correspondent Bob Dotson, won the 2020 New York Emmy Award for Best Documentary.[5] The video was released on DVD on January 15, 2020 and also featured on PBS.[6]

Lisson also wrote, produced and directed AT&T’s Science and Technology commercial for the 1992 Winter Olympics in Albertville, France.

Lisson lives with his family and dog Riley, a West Highland Terrier, in Upstate New York.
