About the Author
Elena Stanfield is a Georgia rancher, real estate professional, and children's book author who believes some of life's greatest lessons are found in the most unexpected places.
Originally from the Tampa Bay area of Florida, Elena moved to Georgia in 1999 after earning her bachelor's degree from Taylor University in Indiana. Her professional journey began with the Boys & Girls Clubs, where she spent five years working with children and developing youth programs. In 2005, she entered the real estate industry, eventually becoming an Associate Broker and Accredited Land Consultant where she specializes in land, farms, country estates, and residential properties throughout Middle Georgia.
Today, Elena and her husband, Mark, are first-generation cattle ranchers who own and operate Twisted Spur Cattle Co., a working cow-calf operation in Georgia. Their shared love for agriculture, animals, and the outdoors has become much more than a lifestyle. It has opened the door to an entirely new chapter in Elena's life. That chapter began with the birth of a remarkable little calf named Wrylie. Born with a rare condition known as wry nose, Wrylie faced challenges from her very first moments of life. Her determination, curious personality, and ability to thrive despite her differences inspired Elena to begin writing stories that would encourage children to embrace what makes them unique, face challenges with courage, and discover the beauty in everyday life.
What started as one little calf's true story has grown into Stories From the Ranch, a children's book collection inspired by the animals, adventures, and experiences of a real working ranch. Through entertaining storytelling and authentic agricultural experiences, Elena hopes to introduce young readers to ranch life while sharing timeless lessons about faith, hope, kindness, perseverance, and the importance of caring for God's creation. When she's not writing, selling real estate, or tending to cattle, Elena enjoys horseback riding, spending time outdoors, traveling with her husband, and gathering with family and friends.
Above all, she hopes her stories will remind children that being different can be something beautiful and that sometimes the smallest creatures have the biggest lessons to teach.
