Author Info

Steffen characterizes himself as a former international civil servant gone rogue.

As a retired career official (over 33 years in the EU) with diplomatic stints as Deputy (and sometimes Acting) Head of EU Missions in Ukraine and Romania he boasts of a unique experience of how our international organizations and their leaders operate -in real life.

He has represented the EU-Commission in bodies as different as the European Parliament, the EU Council of Ministers and the Economic and Social Committee, where he also worked in the beginning of his career in the Single Market directorate; add to that the OECD´s Financial Affairs Committee, plus working with  the IMF, the USAID and the UN´s Development Aid Agency, UNDP.

He has an MA in English and History from the University of Århus, Denmark and has co-written and co-edited two books, From New Deal to New Frontiers and The Angry Young Men.

His genre is creative nonfiction and his literary style is mix of two politically completely different thorns in the side of the political elites, Camille Paglia and Ann Coulter.

His message, if any, is politically incorrect.

He is a regular contributor to a Danish political internet blog, called 24Nyt and frequently write opinion pieces for both Danish and foreign media.

He spends half of the year, the winter, in Cascais, Portugal and the summer in Sydals, Denmark, with his Florida-born wife, Joy, and his dog, Bubba. He has 3 children and 6 grandchildren.
