Born, raised and classically trained in China, Shuang Li received her BA Degree in Graphic Design and Master's Degree in Art History. After moving to the United States, Shuang then received her MFA (Master of Fine Art) Degree from The Department of Art, University of Oregon.
Committed to continuing the “En Plein Air” Impressionism approach, Shuang paints both on locations and in her studio, portraying the extraordinary variety of life with her unique perspective. With masterful classic and contemporary techniques, Shuang recreates nature’s beauty in her paintings and captures moods and moments, light and colors with her singular poetic visual expression.
A signature member of American Impressionist Society, American Society of Marine Artists, Laguna Plein Air Painters Association, National Watercolor Society, San Diego Watercolor Society, Watercolor West, and an Elected Artist Member of American Professional League and California Art Club, Shuang’s artworks have long been favored by collectors, also regularly exhibited in national and international galleries and group shows, with many honorable awards.
With her extensive teaching background, Shuang has been regularly invited by art organizations for her popular painting demonstrations, workshops, and classes, also frequently served as an invited juror and award judge for art competitions and art exhibitions.
