Shady Oaks Publishing was founded by musician and writer Larry Johnson with a vision to create a platform where aspiring artists can share their voices, stories, and creativity with the world. Rooted in the belief that art and literature have the power to transform lives, Shady Oaks is dedicated to fostering opportunities for new talent and amplifying works that inspire growth, critical thought, and positive change.
Although Affirm Life Now is Shady Oaks’ first literary project, we hold high expectations for its impact. More than a book, this project is part of a larger movement. Proceeds and support from Affirm Life Now will directly strengthen and expand the Affirm Life Ten-Week Course, a program currently implemented in the Florida Department of Corrections facilities. This initiative helps participants develop rational living, critical thinking, and consciousness—tools for transformation both inside and beyond prison walls.
