Don Bergman was raised on a dairy and crop farm in the Midwest with dreams of exploring what lie beyond cattle and corn fields.  After serving in the US Navy during the Vietnam War, he worked his way through university earning a bachelor's degree in geography followed by master's and doctorate degrees in education. His career included four decades as a teacher, principal and headmaster of schools in Australia, Indonesia, Japan, Singapore, the Philippines, Chile, Lebanon, and Egypt.

He has lived his childhood dream as an adventurer and explorer having visited more than fifty countries and many of the world's most iconic, historical, cultural, scenic, and remote destinations. Further, he posits that one's life not be measured by the clock, calendar, or the number of birthdays celebrated. Rather, by the number and variety of life's experiences, adventures, and interactions.  Life's experiences and the stories and memories they create are what contribute to a longer, more rewarding, and fulfilling lifetime.
