Rodney Nelsestuen has published more than a dozen works of fiction and nonfiction in a variety of literary journals along with 4 novels: 'Too Many Stones,' received a 5 star rating from both IndieReader and Readers' Favorite, and won the 2025 IndieReader Discovery Award in the Literary Fiction Category. 'Quiet Desperation,' is a recommended read from Kirkus Reviews with a 5 star rating from Readers' Favorite, and was named in the top 5 books in the 2025 Eric Hoffer Literary Awards in the Short Story / Anthology Category; also, 'Neighbors,' and 'Why Belize?' both have "Get it" recommendations from Kirkus Reviews along with glowing reviews from Readers' Favorite. In addition, his writing has won or been honored in a number of other literary contests. He’s frequently served as a judge in several writing contests including the Minnesota Book Awards, the Pacific Northwest Writers’ Association, and the national Eric Hoffer Award. He has written professionally on financial services and technology. Rod holds an MFA from Hamline University in St. Paul, Minnesota and has previously taught at The Loft Literary Center, Minneapolis.
