Rhan Wilson is a Santa Cruz, CA based musician, teacher, author, and creator.
His creations include, of course: music, recordings, videos, performances; but also include sculpture, photography, woodworking, and landscape design.
Rhan began playing the guitar at age 7, then continued to learn the violin, orchestral percussion, bass, and with the encouragement of his teachers, dabbled with the clarinet, trumpet, and any other instruments available at that time. He studied tabla at The Ali Akbar College of Music for a short while, learning the basics of a very complex musical language.
His music teaching focuses on rhythm, flexibility, and awareness, as well as the basics of theory and technique.
Whether he is teaching in person, online via zoom, or in his written articles on his music blog - Rhan often uses analogies to illustrate musical concepts.
