Quigg Honored by Professional Society: The Society of Research Administrators International (SRAI), a professional society with nearly 4500 members worldwide, bestowed the high honor of inducting Timothy L. Quigg to their Distinguished Faculty. Quigg joins an exclusive club of twelve members of the Society that have been so recognized. During the hooding ceremony, Julie Cole, SRA International President, commented that:

UNC-CH Establishes Award Honoring Tim Quigg: The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill announces the annual “Tim Quigg Can Do” Award. This prestigious award is designed to recognize a central support office employee who exemplifies the "can do" attitude that characterized Tim’s career. Honorees have gone above and beyond by streamlining procedures, reducing lead times, removing outdated requirements, and finding creative ways to overcome obstacles to getting things done.
Graduate Students Select Tim Quigg as Recipient of Teaching Award: Tim created and taught a unique multi-disciplinary graduate course at UNC-CH entitled "Research Administration for Scientists." Hundreds of PhD students from over fifty academic departments have taken this course and thousands of post-docs and research scientists from the National Cancer Institute and other federal agencies have taken his Scientific Management or other courses. In recognition of his creative approach to developing courses that he says cover "everything students need to know to be successful in their career that isn't taught in other courses, including how to be an effective supervisor", and to acknowledge his entertaining style of teaching, Tim Quigg has been honored by the Computer Science Graduate Student Association with this year’s Excellence in Teaching Award.
Quigg Honored as Research Administrator of the Year: Tim strongly believes in empowering those around him. He makes everyone feel valuable, and when he provides guidance, recipients never feel he is lecturing them. In fact, because Tim has the remarkable ability to view all ideas as starting points and welcomes discussion, final decisions are often the result of input from many people.
The Timothy L. Quigg Entrepreneurs’ Lounge Dedicated: Colleagues, students, and friends filled the lobby of Sitterson Hall on the UNC-Chapel Hill campus for the dedication of the the Timothy L. Quigg Entrepreneurs’ Lounge. This honor was bestowed in recognition of Tim’s dedication to entrepreneurship and his commitment to research and education.
