Nicky Davis is a novelist, poet, screenwriter and playwright from Seattle, living and working in Los Angeles.


As a queer biracial Black woman, she is committed to telling honest stories that represent all shades of humanity in its complex dysfunction and beauty.


Nicky graduated from Yale University in 2013 with a degree in Theater Studies and Playwriting. There she was the recipient of the inaugural Marina Keegan Playwriting Award and the Berkeley College Arts Prize for excellence in Creative Writing. She has since been commissioned to write three new plays by Playing In Progress, RED Stage and 18th & Union Theater in Seattle. Her play White Kwanzaa was produced at West of Lenin Theater in Seattle in 2015, and her play Funny Ha-Ha had its first public reading at Circle X Theater in LA in January 2018. Her first screenplay, Junebug, was completed in 2019, and produced that same year by Winter Dunn productions. It will premiere in Fall 2020. 


Grieve Yourself is her first novel.
