My full name is Nathan Osborn, but everyone, except my mom, calls me "Nate." I was born in in Nebraska. I am the direct descendant of people, mostly farmers, who worked very hard to make ends meet. I am grateful for their sacrifices.
I have two sisters and a brother. They are all very successful adults now. I have the nicest parents in the world. They always made their kids their top priority. Growing up, I would usually play outside all day with my siblings and neighbors. I had a wonderful childhood full of memorable moments.
I left Nebraska to attend college at Texas Christian University, a wonderful school located in Fort Worth, Texas. I learned a lot about history and sociology while at TCU. I came back home for a law degree from the University of Nebraska College of Law. I learned how to write during law school. It was a worthwhile experience.
I currently work as a real estate lawyer in Colorado. Fortunately, unlike many other lawyers, I love my job. I get to talk to interesting and smart people who are up to interesting and smart things all day long. I live with my beautiful wife and three wonderful sons. I count myself lucky.
I have always loved writing. The first book that I ever wrote was in the second grade where I won an award for a story about Santa Claus. I began writing children's stories again after reading numerous children's books to my sons that were boring, simplistic, and uninspiring. Instead of hoping that someone else would start writing interesting children's books for boys, I plunged headfirst into the book business. I "became" an author to write entertaining books for my kids and to show them, by example, that most goals are actually very achievable with enough grit and tenacity.
