Davin Maske was born and raised in a suburb of Los Angeles
County, California. He is an only son to immigrants from Germany and Pakistan
who instilled within him the pride and responsibility of being a quality
American. He was their "American Dream." Education, music, and hard
work were some of the values given to him as a child, by both parents. As a child, Davin faced the challenges of having a mother
struggling with mental illness during a time in America when this debilitating
disease was swept under the rug and hidden. He is passionate that the stigma
surrounding mental illness needs to be erased in our society. He believes we
all need help and should not be afraid to ask for it.
Through the support and love of his ever-involved father,
Harald, Davin gravitated towards music and the sport of baseball during his
adolescence. As an only child, Davin's relationships with his core friends
became truly familial and long-lasting. His rich, and often intense youthful
experiences with his family and friends became the music of his life. Years of
studying music led him to join multiple garage bands during his early high
school years. Music took over his soul, and Davin went on to be a member of
sixteen bands over a twenty-seven-year period of his life. A love for sports
would always remain a passion throughout his life too.
Davin studied television and film at the University of
Fullerton, California. During his time at CSUF, and shortly thereafter, Davin
was part of two development deals with major record labels as a serious rock
musician. During his time in the studio, recording albums with two bands he
also began making music videos, live concert DVDs, and electronic press kits
for major rock artists he met through producers he networked with. His professional
music career never fully set sail, but a career as a video director and
producer certainly did. He forged a successful career in producing, directing,
and video editing.
He is the proud, lucky, and happy husband to Mallory. Davin is the luckiest dad on earth to Miller and Jojo. He is currently still playing music
in original and cover bands around Orange County, California. He is an
accomplished sports entertainment producer, real estate agent, and proud music
and film geek. Davin, the author has written six screenplays, one teleplay and a
memoir. He has also directed two independent short films. Davin has produced countless
broadcast commercials, music videos, and live concert films while entertaining
fans of professional sports in the Orange County, California market for over
sixteen years.
His beloved parents, Harald and Zara were lost to brain
cancer and kidney failure early in Davin's adult life. His art, whether it is
music or writing, is dedicated to the memory of his parents. Davin currently
lives in Huntington Beach, California with his family which includes his
beloved in-laws Ralph and Peggy Portillo.
