increasing responsibility. She currently serves as the Director of Employee
Relations for four early learning schools, a testament to her exceptional abilities in
communication, team building, and collaborative problem-solving. In this vital
position, she plays a key role in nurturing a supportive and cohesive work culture,
drawing upon her inherent empathy and understanding of human dynamics.
Outside of her professional life, Amy has built a fulfilling life as a devoted wife and
a loving mother to two children, finding immense joy and purpose.
Amy McKiernan has had her own experiences with sexual assault that occured in her junior high and highschool years. It was from these deeply personal experiences that the inspiration for this book was born 20 years later. This journey started after appearing as a guest speaker on her dads radio program in August of 2014, doing an episode called What Happens When Life Gets Broken? After this experience, Amy felt a
compelling need to share her story and, more importantly, the lessons she learned on the path to true healing. She entertained the idea of writing a book and it wasn't until 2019 that she really dove into the project and not until 2025 that she finally finished it. Her primary goal in writing this book is to offer encouragement and hope to others who are grappling with the long-lasting effects of sexual assault. She aspires to help others break free from the powerful grip that such trauma can hold on their lives.
Today, Amy no longer defines herself by her past experiences. Through perseverance and self-discovery, she has cultivated a life characterized by strength, inner peace, and resolute confidence. She has built a fulfilling life as a devoted wife and a loving mother to two children, finding immense joy and purpose.
Amy's multifaceted experiences – her personal triumph over trauma and her professional dedication to fostering positive interpersonal and professional relationships – uniquely inform her writing. She brings a deep understanding of the complexities of healing, the importance of resilience, and the power of human connection to her work, creating a message that is both authentic and profoundly inspiring.
