M. Gregory Kendrick is a retired Professor of Modern European History and the former Director of the Freshman Cluster Program at the University of California in Los Angeles (UCLA). He has published two histories, The Heroic Ideal: Western Archetypes from the Greeks to the Romans (McFarland Press 2010) and Villainy in Western Culture: Historical Archetypes of Danger, Disorder, and Death (McFarland Press 2016). He currently resides in West Hollywood, California.
