Melissa Parker is a former firefighter/paramedic with the City of Winchester Fire Department in Winchester Kentucky.
She has 20 + years of both fire, and pre-hospital care experience, that began in Maine and carried her through Kentucky.
Melissa was diagnosed with PTSD, anxiety, and depression and has found healing through being an advocate of first responder mental health. She continues to try and change the way departments look at mental health, as well as be an ear for, and support member, for those who may be experiencing their own struggles.
Melissa continues to write self help and motivational material that is aimed at the first responder in hopes that she can at least make a difference in one persons life.
’I don’t care if only one person finds peace and strength in my material. That one person is the base of why I started to write. Saving at least one person, or giving hope to at least one person is my goal.’
