British author Maureen Cotter – a native of Wales – originally penned The Adventures of Jimini and Jacko as bedtime stories for her two young grandsons. Their delight in the escapades of the two little make-believe characters Jimini and Jacko prompted her to publish the tales as a collection of animal adventure stories for young readers.
Born and bred in the Rhondda Valley, at the heart of South Wales, Maureen is widely travelled and lived for many years in London. Her Welsh roots ultimately drew her back to Wales, and are strongly reflected in the stories.
