David Tai Li is a Year 13 student at King's College, Auckland, New Zealand. He enjoys playing and listening to early 20th century classical music, especially that of Alexander Scriabin and Nikolai Medtner. He is always in pursuit of an emotionally and logically grand and ideal realisation of music. He has also keenly explored the field of linguistics, especially phonetics and phonology, given that the subject documents the way languages function and in certain cases how the human brian operates when dealing with language. He is also intrigued by the logical thinking behind mathematics, the Latin language and the fascinating history of ancient Rome. Participating in sports like golf and tennis is also a big part of his life: the competition, excitement, and being able to stay active is very satisfying for him. He greatly values communities: he likes to be one of the key members in his communities and contribute to the group while building relationships with others. Learning is also important to him, as well as being a kind person that respects, helps and sympathises with others.
