Lisa Mckinnon was raised in the small town of Littlefield Texas. At an early age, she began to write poetry and short stories for self entertainment and found there was an escape in words.
After graduating from Littlefield High School , she attended McMurry University in Abilene Texas and then Midwestern State University where she graduated with a degree in Radiologic Technology. Although the medical field had always been a desire, Lisa knew there was more to life than hospitals and patients, so she pursued a career in sales. After marriage, she opened her own business and her entrepreneurial instinct took hold. Raising four children, running her own business and writing kept her on her toes, but she held a sense of wanderlust deep in her soul since high school.
After succeeding in business and sending grown children out the door, including a husband, she set out on her own. As retirement closed in, she began to think about the dream of setting out on the open road. At age, 57, she retired, sold her belongings and set out on the adventure of a lifetime. With her trusty sidekick, Belle, the chihuahua , they travels road, highway and interstate visiting as many states as possible. Oh what an adventure it turned out to be.
With her travels winding down, she found a peace with her life and began to write about her childhood.
Lisa now has 4 of the cutest grandchildren ever born, and enjoys spending time with friends and family. She currently resides in Abilene and lives a quiet life.
