Kevin studied poetry formally from an early age in both France and the United States. After pursuing language arts at James Madison University in Virginia, he received a scholarship through Hamilton College to study at the prestigious Sorbonne (Paris III, Paris VII) and at L'Institut Catholique. While a student in France, Kevin was hired to teach English and writing at Lycée Pasteur in Neuilly-sur-Seine, FR and at Lycée Fenelon in La Rochelle, FR. In addition, he served as head proctor of the TOEFL exams at centers in St. Cloud and Clignacourt in Paris.

Upon returning to New York City, he continued his formal studies in poetry and writing with Charles Bernstein, John Yau, Yusef Komunyakaa, and Elaine Equi while teaching English at City College. Shortly thereafter, he was accepted as a Bard College fellow to pursue his MFA in poetry at the Milton Avery Graduate School for the Arts.

His writing has appeared in Fence Magazine, LUNGFULL!, Glimmertrain, New Millennium, Promethean, among others. To date he has written three books: Medawin (2009), The 12 Alchemists & Other Poems (2012), and Mooncats from the Forest: Dreams 1992-2014 (forthcoming: LOC copyright 2014).

His book of children's poems "The 12 Alchemists..." was a finalist in the 2018 Fence Modern Prize in Prose for Literature Appropriate for Children, judged by Daniel Handler.

Kevin continues to teach poetry and songwriting privately.
