After graduating high school in 1951, Doctor Flaugher was self-supporting and paid his own way through college. After he received his bachelor of arts degree in English, his secret dream was to be a writer, but he was soon drafted and spent the next two years in the army. He was stationed in Germany, the setting for his first novel. After five years of teaching science in a public school, he eventually attended a dental university in New Jersey where he taught and practiced dentistry for the remainder of his working life, retiring at the age of eighty. He is the father of three sons whom he loves dearly, and is happily married to a mental health professional who supports his pleasure in writing. At the age of ninety-two this is his debut novel, which he undertook when he was eighty-six. He wishes you joy in reading it and hopes you can take something deeper of human nature from it.
