The Rev. Dr. Jeffery B. Hampton has been the pastor in charge of Caring Ministries at Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church, a 4,700-member congregation in Little Rock, Arkansas since 1999. Dr. Hampton is a cum laude graduate with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from Morris Brown College in Atlanta, Georgia. He earned a Master of Divinity and a Doctor of Ministry from Memphis Theological Seminary, Memphis, Tennessee.
Dr. Hampton’s pastoral career includes appointments to Greater St. Mark A.M.E. Church in Thornton, Arkansas; St. Paul A.M.E. Church in Newport, Arkansas; The Ebenezer UMC Conway-Mount Zion UMC Center Ridge-Wesley UMC Morrilton Charge; McCabe Chapel UMC in North Little Rock, and Pulaski Heights UMC in Little Rock.
Dr. Hampton has served as Executive Pastor of Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church and as the Arkansas Annual Conference Secretary of the United Methodist Church. He is a trained Disciple Bible Study, Christian Believer Bible Study, and Stephen Ministry Leader. He has completed studies in building covenant relationships, small group finances, shalom leadership, marriage and family, and grief counseling.
He and his wife, Cynthia Ann Puckett Hampton, have two daughters, Joya Hampton-Anderson (Wes, Carter & Liam) and Cheyanne Lucky (Trevor). “Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life” (Revelation 2:10c) is a scripture that guides Dr. Hampton’s ministry. He is committed to serving God by making disciples for Jesus Christ and advancing multicultural opportunities in the church, community, and world.
