Years ago, upon completion of my final semester towards earning a general secondary teaching credential, I had the good fortune to be selected to join a group of college students who would be sent as teachers to East Africa. My book describes events, places, and people that I experienced during two years of life at a small isolated Tanzanian school. These activities occurred 58 years ago during the time that Tanganyika, Uganda, and Kenya gained independence. During the years since returning from Africa, I taught veterinary anatomy for 35 years, 25 of them at Iowa State University, and four in the Caribbean. Now retired, my wife and I live in Phoenix, Oregon.
