Julia Torres is a childhood trauma survivor and was also in New York City on September 11th 2001. Diagnosed with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), she is now a fierce mental health advocate for her fellow survivors of trauma. Julia was invited to deliver a TEDx Talk about her traumatic life experiences and recovery in 2018 which has garnered thousands of views around the world. She is also an award-winning journalist, former spokesperson in Corporate America, political appointee and the first college graduate in her family. Her cultural connection to Puerto Rico has made her passionate about securing equal voting rights for island residents (American citizens) and, full representation in the U.S. Congress.
