Author Info

Dennis Eric O'Meara grew up just in time to catch the last sunset of the Golden Age of Southern California in the 1970s and 80s.  Eric began writing the summer after high school—mostly poetry, and keeping regular journals.  After teaching for a few years and earning degrees in college and graduate school, Eric enrolled in the screenwriter program at the Los Angeles Performing Arts Conservatory (then known as The Promenade Playhouse) in Santa Monica.  After writing a number of screen and stage plays, Eric's original stage play, Dennis Wilson Forevermore: A Beach Boy's Fable, a biographical play based on the wild, but troubled Beach Boy drummer Dennis Wilson, was produced from August through December 2016 at the Promenade Playhouse and had a six week run with tickets consistently in demand. Charlie Doyle's Dream is Eric's first novel. The book was inspired while growing up in Southern California during the tennis boom of the 1970s and 1980s, as Eric competed in junior competition. Eric is now getting started on a new novel.
